Hello, I’m Cynthia.
(she/her)
It is a privilege to walk alongside you while navigating this wild winding road of life, as a fellow human who is on the journey of learning (and un-learning) too. At the core of my work is the philosophy that you are the expert; that my role as a therapist is to hold space for you and collaborate with you as you discover your internal resources.
I am a deeply compassionate person; I am warm and energetic, as well as gentle in my approach as a therapist. I tend to find that a tailored blend of evidence-based and holistic methods lends itself to a more effective therapy than ‘one technique fits all’. Modalities I draw from include Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, Art-Based Therapies, Mindfulness-Based Therapies, and trauma-informed approaches.
Although I’m happy to work with you through your particular concerns or issues, my passions are in the realms of:
Anxiety, stress, and burnout
Depression and mood disturbance
Complex and developmental trauma
Attachment and relationship concerns
Procrastination, unrelenting standards, and perfectionist traits
Therapy for therapists
Life transitions and adjustments
Resilience, self-esteem, and building positive identity
Support for late adolescents and young adults
Cross-cultural Psychology
Spiritual-related health and wellness
My intention for you in therapy goes beyond just learning to tolerate discomfort, reducing your symptoms, or discussing a list of strategies in order to return to ‘productivity’. The goal is to holistically integrate all parts of you and to foster sustainable shifts toward living an authentic, grounded, and meaningful life ~ however that looks for you.
I look forward to connecting with you.

TRAINING
I invest in regular supervision and training as part of my registration and to ensure you’re getting the most well-rounded & grounded version of me in our work together. I also engage in my own personal therapy, which is an integral part of a lifelong process of my own self-care and development.
A few internationally respected clinicians I have learned from, and align with, include: Richard Swartz, Bessel van der Kolk, Daniel Siegel, Gabor Matè, and Esther Perel. I recommend checking out their work to get a sense of my approach and to facilitate your therapeutic work.
