You, as the Self & the Sage.
Self; there are many ways to think about the Self.
One is that it’s the seat of your consciousness, or your essential nature as a human being. Another is to think of ‘Self’ as a way to describe your deeper sense of knowing that is rooted in innate qualities such as compassion and courage.
Sage; wise and judicious through experience and reflection.
Thanks for stopping by. I acknowledge the courage it takes to consider seeking support.
You may have struggled at different points in your life with mental health issues such as depression or anxiety, but beneath these symptoms, you may have considered deeper enquiries like:
“What is my purpose?”
“How do I move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life?”
“A part of me feels… but then another part of me says...”
If you are seeking a space to ponder the answers, or to make sense of the world around you/within you, my style of therapy might resonate.
On your journey of self-exploration, it is also important for us to consider you as one piece of a larger puzzle; made up of a complex interconnected system of family, friends, schooling, work, community, culture, history, and society. These all play an important part in your unique experience of the world.
Whatever it is that brings you to the space, I prefer to focus on “what has happened to you” rather than “what is wrong with you”. Shifting our approach away from ‘deficits’ or diagnoses and toward sense-making leads to a more empowering and positive therapeutic experience.
